I am Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Padua, Italy. My research focuses on naturalism and the history of metaphysics. I initially worked on Leibniz—especially on the concepts of “life” and “organism”—and on the relationship between Leibniz and Hegel. Over the past fifteen years, I have focused on American philosophical naturalism, with particular attention to Wilfrid Sellars and his relation to the history of modern Western philosophy. My forthcoming book, Naturalism and Civilization: The Evolutionary Way to History, Culture, and Religion (Springer Nature, 2026), examines naturalistic approaches to human civilization and culture. My current research investigates the ways in which naturalism reshapes key concepts of Western civilization, such as history, culture, and religion.
